How do you reconcile historic ecclesiastical architecture with the modern needs of the 21st century Crossroads experience? This was our latest challenge as Crossroads moved Uptown into Samuel Hannford's Old St. George. It was critical that we honor the existing structure, but equally important that the space perform as their other state-of-the-art facilities. In the end, we approached the project with a language of strategic intervention, weaving modern details into the historic tapestry while preserving the "battle scars" and enriching the "patina of age" that tells the story of this 150 year old icon.
